Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a variety of manual and computer-controlled machining tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines, to fabricate components and parts according to specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and instructions to determine machining requirements and select appropriate tools and materials.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards and meet production targets.
- Conduct regular inspections of machines and equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs and perform routine maintenance tasks as required.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to provide input on design improvements, feasibility, and manufacturability of new products.
- Perform precision measurements using various tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues with machinery, identify root causes of problems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Document and maintain records of machine settings, tooling configurations, and production data for future reference.
- Stay updated with advancements in machining technology and industry trends to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have experience in the cannabis and extraction industry.
- Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role, with a strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and measuring instruments.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Familiarity with various materials commonly used in machining, such as aluminum, steel, and plastics.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to follow established procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
